I made it! I've been in Atlanta for almost 2 weeks now, still getting settled in and JUST got internet (F*CK COMCAST... unfortunately my choices are limited). Anyway... during my long drive from Maryland I jotted down some random thoughts while riding in a moving truck with only FM radio. These are in no particular order and no real structure. Enjoy!
- Route 301 in Maryland/Virginia is filled with those murder scene motels... u know the ones I'm talkin bout... flickering neon lights, VACANCY signs, etc... creepy
- Conversely, Rt. 301 is probably heaven if you ride a motorcycle... light straightaways and nice curves
- Bucks (male deer) are the supreme pimps... you never see em on the side of the road. They send the females out with the kids to find some food and put themselves in harm's way.
- What happened to real R&B music??? Listening to various "Quiet Storms" overnight I heard so many classic tunes that are unrivaled in today's music.... c'mon people!
- Pomonkey, MD vs. the Powhite Parkway in VA.... smh
- Flat tires on a 16 foot moving truck are a BITCH
- My dog is just like a little baby... he was restless in the truck until I put the window down and his lil ass was KNOCKED OUT
- The University of Virginia is looking for cocaine and crack users for a study they're doing... and they run ads for this on the radio at 3am..... really tho??
- Drake's "Best I Ever Had" is pure genius... what other song gets SERIOUS play at ANY time on the radio... it was on every slow jam mix overnight... on multiple stations. Him and the homie #kiashinewrote are getting BIG dough.
- Best quote I ever heard on the radio: "Keep your friends close, and your enemies on Lo-Jack" (NC)
- I will NEVER go to any city or town with the word "Lynch" in it....
- I-95 in Virginia... Exit 83.... Holla @ me!!
- Avant - Separated is one of my favorite r&b joints of all time... i was singin it like my life depended on it in that truck at like 2am
- Thank God the sun was up when I caught a flat in rural South Carolina
